Pandemics have a way of throwing out schedules and the way we “usually” do things. At this time we are not having faspa. Please check with the bulletin for the current list of activities.
Senior Faspa is a tradition that started long ago, when Mennonite Churches were the center of farming communities. Traditionally, Sunday was a day of rest, so families gathered in the afternoon for a meal and fellowship. The meals were made up of foods that were quick to prepare, such as cold cut sandwiches, vegetables, and fruit. Today, the tradition continues on the 5th Sunday of the month at 4:00 p.m., by gathering for Faspa type food, and occasionally sharing a small program.
